A man who contaminated sweets with sedative and distributed them to youngsters at a youth camp in the region has admitted sexual crimes against two young males who were between nine and ten.

'Sweet game'

The legal representative, handling the case, detailed the criminal behavior to the court.

She explained his those affected were children from difficult backgrounds who were attending a youth camp which he operated.

The defendant played a "treat game" with the youngsters, the prosecutor explained, in which he would access the children's bedrooms when they were preparing to sleep and tell them to consume candy "rapidly".

She told the court the man had engaged in this activity with the boys "repeatedly", and youngsters had previously fallen ill the following morning.

She stated the defendant had been successful in rationalizing this for many years as the minors being "overwrought by enjoyment", until his stepson had concerns in July 2025.

The legal representative added: "In the summer" his stepson had worries about what was going on, with valid cause.

"They chose" to investigate in the defendant's belongings."

The legal counsel explained materials including infant oil, petroleum jelly and syringes were found, and his stepchild contacted the police about his concerns.

She stated the defendant continued to play the "sweet game" with six youngsters that evening - July 26th - and they were all ill the following morning.

"Authorities" had not gone out by that point," she stated further.

The police watchdog, the police conduct office, earlier informed that it was investigating the police response of the incident.

Mrs Prior stated the children were having difficulty walking due to their sickness, so the family member notified the law enforcement a second time.

She stated the man then engaged in the "candy game" in a space of five minors.
