Automobiles in German Town Discovered Marked with Swastikas in Human Blood, Law Enforcement State

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Police
Authorities stated they were contacted by a resident who noticed a vehicle in Hanau smeared with red-colored liquid

Around 50 cars have been marked with what appears to be blood from a person in the Germany's town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, according to authorities.

Vehicles, exterior walls and mailboxes were defaced, occasionally with swastikas, they stated in a official communication.

Police state they were alerted in the late hours on Wednesday evening, when a man noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish-hued substance.

The liquid had been placed in the pattern of a banned symbol, they reported.

Police then found multiple other smeared automobiles and residential walls in the adjacent neighborhood.

Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under regulations banning the public exhibition of symbols from the Nazi era.

Law enforcement report initial examinations suggest the substance was probably human bodily fluid.

"At present there remains no lead as to its source; officials are currently not aware of any injuries in relation with the incident," they stated.

Municipal representatives said they were attempting "to unravel the case" and have requested to the community for tips.

A senior official stated the attack made him speechless and had to be resolved rapidly.

"This incident affects the center of Hanau and revives the trauma of the far-right violent incident half a decade ago," he posted on online, referring to the death of nine individuals by a assailant targeting individuals of migrant background in 2020.
